Dr. Gonzalo Córdova Galarza (1919 – 2001)

Passionate about the philosophy of law, Gonzalo Córdova Galarza, (1919 - 2001) obtained the title of Doctor en Jurisprudence in the Central University of Ecuador, of which he also graduated from the International Sciences Institute.

He was a professor in the Central University of Ecuador,

visiting professor of various universities of America and Europe, and professor of international courses in CIESPAL (International Center for Superior Communication Studies in Latin America).

He was Undersecretary in the State Department and in the Finance and Public Credit Ministry,

President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ecuador;

Superintendent of Banks, for two periods;

member of the Monetary Board in three terms;

President of the Advisory Board of the Foreign Affairs Ministry,

General Director of CIESPAL and representative of Ecuador in the General Conferences of UNESCO, on six occasions.

He obtained a UNP (National Press Union) award for -Best Investigation-.

He co-authored the Monetary Regime and State Bank Law, in force today;

and co-authored the project for the General Law for the Institutions of the Financial System (1992).

Among his works we have:

"Two Weeks In the Press of Latin America" (co-author);

"Economic Development and Communication", Scientific and Educational Journalism".

Doctor Gonzalo Córdova lead the Law Firm from 1983 until 2001, year in which he died, with 57 years of professional practice.
