Dr Andrés F. Córdova (1892-1983)
Doctor Andrés F. Córdova was born in 1892. A man
of profound humanist vocation, he was an extraordinary father and
common stem.
He graduated as a doctor in jurisprudence in 1919,
en the University of Cuenca.
Among his main works, we have:
Treaty of Civic Instruction,
Criminal Law Compared,
Ecuadorian Criminal Procedural Law (2 volumes
- Tobar and Central University awards);
Ecuadorian Civil Law (2
volumes - Tobar and Central University awards);

During his prolific life, doctor Andrés F. Córdova

of Cuenca, and twice its President;
Congressman for Cañar,

Senator for Cañar,

President of Congress,
Minister of Public Works,
Agriculture and Mines;
Minister of Government;
President of Ecuador,
President of Congress' Commission,
Professor of Criminal Procedural
Law in the Central University of Ecuador,
Member of the Agriculture

Member of the Honorable Consulting Board of the Foreign
Affairs Ministry,
Presidential Candidate in en 1968.
Among his pastimes there was sharp-shooting (two time champ in
Cuenca), photography, agriculture and music (Author of Flores Marchitas
(Withering Flowers), Te Espero (I Await You), Soledad (Solitude)
and other songs).
He died in Quito, on October 3 1983.
